What makes a catalogue suitable for wholesale?
A consumer brochure can focus on benefits and lifestyle photography. A wholesale catalogue must also answer practical questions: what does each item cost the retailer, how is it ordered, what quantity is required and when can it be supplied?
The simplest wholesale catalogue template uses repeatable product fields. That consistency helps a buyer compare the range and helps your team maintain the document when prices or products change.
Recommended wholesale catalogue pages
- Cover: brand, collection name and edition or valid-until date.
- Short introduction: product category, target customer and what distinguishes the range.
- Product pages: image, name, SKU, description, trade price, RRP, MOQ and case pack.
- Wholesale line sheet: the collection in one compact table.
- Trade price list: prices grouped by useful categories.
- Order form: buyer details, quantities and totals.
- Terms: minimum order, payment, lead time, shipping and damages process.
Opening order and reorder minimum
An opening-order minimum sets the smallest initial order you will accept from a new retail account. A lower reorder minimum can make it easier for an existing stockist to replenish proven products. If you use both, label them separately rather than showing one unexplained “minimum order” figure.
MOQ, case pack and assortment
| Term | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| MOQ | Smallest quantity that can be ordered | MOQ 6 units |
| Case pack | Quantity packed together for supply | Case pack 6 |
| Assorted case | A case containing specified variants | 12 units across 3 colours |
When assortment rules are complex, keep the product row concise and explain the mix in the trade notes. The final accepted purchase order should confirm the exact quantities.
How to organise a larger range
Group products using categories that match the buyer's decision process. A homeware brand might use Tableware, Textiles and Home Fragrance. An apparel brand may use collection and garment type. Avoid creating so many categories that each contains only one product.
Use a product grid when fast comparison matters. Use one-product-per-page detail when materials, dimensions or construction need more explanation. CatalogPack keeps the separate line sheet condensed regardless of catalogue layout.
Trade pricing and tax wording
State the currency and whether wholesale prices include or exclude applicable tax. The correct wording depends on where and how you trade, so the template lets you choose a neutral, inclusive or exclusive note rather than assuming one tax treatment.
How CatalogPack uses the template
Enter products manually or import the CSV template. Add optional images, choose the currency and trade terms, then select the documents to generate. Every page can be inspected in a watermarked preview. If the output is useful, one payment unlocks the unwatermarked PDF.
The process happens in your browser. CatalogPack does not host your catalogue or store the uploaded product list and images on its servers.
